Irrigation Systems (LEED-Aligned)

Mother Earth Gardens designs and installs irrigation as a core in-house service, overseen by our own irrigation engineer and licensed master plumber. That means systems are engineered to code and for water efficiency — drip and micro-irrigation, zoning by plant water need, and controller-based scheduling — not treated as an afterthought bolted on at the end of a planting job.

What does an irrigation scope include?

System design and hydraulic sizing, low-flow drip or micro-irrigation in planting beds, zoning that groups plants by water need, weather- or sensor-based controllers, and compatibility with non-potable sources like harvested rainwater where the project calls for it. It also includes retrofits of inefficient existing systems.

Who is it for?

Institutional and corporate campuses targeting LEED or green-building goals, developers who need planting to survive the dry season, and any property where water efficiency and reliable establishment both matter.

How does MEG deliver it differently?

An in-house irrigation engineer and licensed master plumber means the system is engineered and installed to standard by MEG's own team, and coordinated tightly with the planting design from the start. On LEED-targeting projects, irrigation zoning has to align with the planting palette — which is far easier when the same team owns both. MEG has delivered LEED-aligned irrigation at institutional scale, including De La Salle University's Laguna campus.

Does "LEED-aligned" mean the project is LEED certified?

No. LEED-aligned means the irrigation design follows LEED Water Efficiency principles and can contribute points toward certification; actual certification requires the full project to be registered and reviewed by the certifying body across all credit categories.

Can an existing irrigation system be made more efficient?

Yes — common retrofits include converting spray heads to drip, adding a weather-based controller, re-zoning by plant water need, and replacing degraded emitters and piping.
